4 Easy Healthy Snack Ideas

Something that everyone feels at least once a day is cravings. Cravings drive us toward finding sweet foods and tasty treats to satisfy ourselves. It’s not necessarily hunger, but the desire to eat something enjoyable. These are 4 easy healthy snack ideas that can keep you off the extra calories and focused on your healthy diet.

Cravings can make it hard to say no to chocolates and pastries when you have no other alternatives present. So today, we’re going to take a look at some of the alternatives.

Apple Slices

The first idea for you to consider is apple slices. Apples themselves contain antioxidants and fiber, making them a good healthy choice. They’re easy to prepare in the morning and enjoy when you’re at work, at home, or on the go.

You can also customize apple slices however you’d like. When I eat my apple slices, I like having them with cinnamon sprinkled on top for flavoring and one tablespoon of any nut butter for dipping. My favorite is almond butter.

The cinnamon promises manganese while peanut butter offers protein in every bite. It adds a pleasant twist to an already delicious and healthy meal. You can also use almond butter or cashew butter if you like. If you have nut allergies, then skip out on the butter and just enjoy your apples!

Dates

The next idea is dates. Dates contain vitamins, minerals, iron, and fiber! They’re sweet and filling so they’ll tame your cravings in no time. This snack gives you the boost of energy you need for the day, and it promises great satisfaction!

To properly fill yourself up, try having around 2-3 dates every day, but no more than this. Dates can also help people who suffer from constipation! Thanks to their fiber and iron levels, they’re a great snack alternative.

Apricots

Apricots are like dates; they’re a natural healthy snack for you to enjoy during the day. Try looking for apricots that are dark brown or orange instead of those which are bright orange. Bright orange apricots have been sprayed with sulfites to prolong their shelf life, which is not an added chemical you want to consume daily.

They’re much sweeter in their natural form and contain fiber and iron with greater potency too.

Dried Figs

Finally, there are dried figs that you can try out. Having 1-2 dried figs every day can provide you with the right amount of antioxidants and calcium. With a great boost of energy, they’re a good midday snack you can enjoy guilt-free.

They can also act as a natural laxative and weight loss food. Keep these in mind if you want to stay fit and fight back against cravings that might drag you to sugar-laden foods.

All of these snacks require little to no preparation and are healthy to boot! They’re great options to switch to if you’re not keen on resorting to sugary sweets every time your tummy has demands.
