I am so excited to share this delicious recipe. It’s an Italian Style Salad. With a more unique variety of ingredients, you’ll get new textures, flavors, and foods to try out in this easy-to-make salad. You can find the ingredients for this recipe in grocery stores, or at any health food store.
Here is what you’ll need for this recipe:
- 1 can of artichoke hearts
- 1 can of heart of palm
- Baby tomatoes, add to your liking
- Green olives, add to your liking
- 1 cup of romaine lettuce
Artichokes, green olives, and romaine lettuce are all whole foods native to the Mediterranean, so you’re getting a more colorful salad than typical green salads. Artichokes have fiber and vitamins C and K in them. Heart of palm has vitamin A, vitamin K, and plenty of zinc in it. Green olives contain healthy fats, and baby tomatoes will contribute more vitamins and minerals to your salad.
All you need to do is chop your whole foods into sizes of your preference. If you’re buying canned artichokes, heart of palm, or anything else, then be sure to rinse and clean them properly. You want to remove any excess sodium from your ingredients, otherwise, it’ll take away from their nutritional value.
Next, take a bowl, and place all your ingredients inside! You’ll notice that I didn’t give precise quantities for both the tomatoes and the green olives. That’s because the quantity doesn’t take away from the salad no matter how much you put in. Judging from the amount of canned artichoke and heart of palm, you can decide how many tomatoes or green olives you would like to add to it!
Once you combine all of your solid foods in a bowl, it’s time to add a dressing to make the flavor pop out even more.
The dressing which I use contains the following ingredients:
- 1 juiced lemon, fresh
- ¼ cup of olive oil
- 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning
All you need to do is combine these ingredients inside of a mason jar and shake well. They’ll mix and combine beautifully for a tasty, delicious salad dressing you can use on this or any other salad that you make.
Once you’ve made your salad and your dressing, combine them, and mix well. You have to make sure that everything is coated evenly with the dressing and mix generously. After that, all you have to do is eat and enjoy!
